Nicky Henderson

Nr. Lambourn, Berkshire

6-time Champion Trainer Nicky Henderson LVO OBE, needs no introduction. Henderson’s training career was founded upon a strong education under the careful eye of racing legend Fred Winter, as his assistant. It was not until 1992 that Nicky took up residence at the infamous Seven Burrows, a stable that is renowned for producing a long roll of honour of high-class National Hunt champions.

There are almost too many accolades to name, including a phenomenal 73 winners at The Cheltenham Festival. The most notable of which are See You Then, in the late 1980s who scored Nicky a hat trick in the Champion Hurdle. Nicky has handled some spectacular jumpers in recent years, dominating the two-mile chasing landscape with the King of the division Sprinter Sacre, and the King re-incarnate Altior. Nicky has also enjoyed Gold Cup success on two occasions with Long Run in 2011 and Bob's Worth in 2013.

More recently the widely acclaimed best hurdler of all time, Constitution Hill has passed through the Henderson ranks. Claiming dazzling successes in both the Supreme Novice’s hurdle in 2022 and the Champion Hurdle in 2023, no small feat. With a supporting cast that includes Jonbon, Sir Gino, and a whole host of exciting younger horses, Nicky is, as ever, at the very top of his game

We are proud of our longstanding partnership with the Champion Trainer, who has been a great success for our horses. Most notably Nicky sent Highclere's Style De Garde to finish second in the Fred Winter Juvenile Hurdle at The Cheltenham Festival, having won his debut race at Newbury by an eye-watering 8 lengths.  With his impressive 20% strike rate for the last five seasons, there is no doubt there will be many more successful days ahead!
