andrew balding

Location: Kingsclere, Nr. Newbury, Berkshire.  Andrew Balding has been based at Kingsclere since he took over the reins from his father in 2003. He quickly established himself as one of the leading trainers in the UK producing Oaks Winner, Casual Look, in his first season.

Balding is known for his ability to get the best out of his horses of all ages and types, training his 2000th winner this year and amassing over £4,000,000 in prize money every season consecutively since 2021.

A master of the big occasion he has achieved outstanding Classic and Royal Ascot success with the likes of 4 x Group 1 winning filly Alcohol Free, 2000 Guineas winner’s Kameko and Chaldean. Star mare Kalpana produced a dominant success in the Group 1 Champion Fillies & Mare stakes to cap off a remarkable 2024 season for Andrew.

He has already enjoyed great success with Highclere having trained Bonfire to win the Dante and 2022 two–year-old star Harrow, to win two hugely valuable sales races.

He and his wife Anna Lisa, are the most generous of hosts on stable visits at their historic Park House Stables set in the stunning rolling hills of Hampshire.
